Shop Signs and Displays Shop Signs There are 2 main materials used for sign work, Foam PVC (Foamex, Foamalux) and Acrylic (Perspex, Plexiglas, Repsol). Each of these materials has it's own advantages. A lightweight, lower cost alternative to acrylic. Suitable for shop signs which do not need to be illuminated. Available in a wide range of colours as well as in matt and gloss finishes. A very hard wearing, high gloss surface with a very long life expectancy. Resistant to chemicals and weathering and staying colourfast in most situations. On comparable thicknesses acrylic is much more rigid than Foam PVC
For more temporary signage, Corex is a viable alternative. A polyproylene based board comprising of hollow flutes, often used as estate agents 'for sale' boards. available in 8' x 4' sheets in red, yellow, green, blue, black, white and opal. 4mm thick only.
Displays Acrylic is by far our most well used display material due to it's crystal clear finish and hard wearing surface. Used on many 'point-of-sale' (POS) products acrylic is ideal where a clean, professional look is needed. We can supply off the shelf POS products or, if you need something a little more personalised, our fabrication department can create your design for you. Click Here To Return To The Top Of The Page

Car Windows Mainly for the race track, we can supply car windows in acrylic or polycarbonate when supplied with accurate templates. As well as supplying plain windows we can also add ventilation holes and sliding openings in drivers door windows. Acrylic is also a great theft deterrent when used to replace quarterlights and rear screens on vans and work vehicles. Virtually indistinguishable from glass it can be fitted into original rubbers or bonded in like the original screen. Please note. Acrylic is only suitable for flat or single curved windows. It needs to be moulded to fit into a double curved opening, which we can do but the process is not usually cost-effective. Click Here To Return To The Top Of The Page

Bending and Vacuum Forming Acrylic is the best option for bending and moulding . It is easily thermoformable with basic workshop tools and retains it's clarity when formed. We also stock high-impact styrene sheet (HIPS) which is designed for vacuum forming. It has a gloss finish on one side (matt on the other) and has a low melting point making it ideal for moulding. Available in a range of thicknesses and colours. Click Here To Return To The Top Of The Page

Secondary Glazing Older wooden windows certainly add a touch of class to a building but over time they become less and less efficient. If you are in a situation where you cannot replace them due to building restrictions, don't want to or simply can't afford to replace them, secondary glazing is the answer. Magnatherm A magnetic double glazing system. One half sticks to the window and the other to the acrylic. Magnetism holds the sheet against the window. A very efficient, virtually invisible system. Holds up to 20 sq. ft. of 2mm acrylic. Sold by the metre. Snaptyte A 2-part PVC system which clamps the acrylic in place. Also self adhesive, the top part of the system is removable to allow the acrylic to be removed for maintenance and during the Summer months. If the edging is pinned (instead of relying on the adhesive strip) it also provides an effective burglar deterrent. When the edging is in place all you see is an attractive ovolo moulding. Holds up to 24 sq. ft. in 2mm acrylic or 16 sq. ft. in 3mm acrylic. Sold in 8' (2.4m) lengths in white and brown. Superglaze Designed for security rather than insulation, superglaze edging is attached to the sheet and then screwed permanently into place. It takes up to 4mm clear acrylic or polycarbonate for the ultimate in security. Click Here To Return To The Top Of The Page

Security Screens and Glazing If security is an issue for you then replacing existing sheet with polycarbonate is the obvious solution. Providing you with a sheet that is 25x stronger than acrylic and a massive 250x stronger than glass it provides an almost impenetrable barrier between you and them. Used extensively in industry, polycarbonate is used for machine guards, motorcycle screens, car headlights, police riot shields...the list is endless, you just don't realise it! We can supply panels in flat sheet form for glazing or fabricate screens and guards for you. We also supply sealants for fixing. We can also supply PETG sheet which has very similar properties to polycarbonate but with the added advantage that is incredibly resilient to chemical attack. Cleaning and Polishing Plastic (Anti static) Cleaner Static electricity build up is something that all plastic are susceptible to. With a quick spray of our 'Plastic Cleaner' static electricity is discharged and is kept at bay by the coating that the cleaner leaves on the sheet. Because our plastic cleaner actually 'does what it says on the tin' it is also ideal for cleaning all plastic surfaces such as PVC windows and car interiors, its superb anti static properties keeping things clean for longer. Polishing We also supply acrylic polishes in small pots for removing minor blemishes and marks from acrylic sheet. Please remember, these are NOT miracle polishes. Think of acrylic like car bodywork, if the scratches are so bad that you can feel them it is going to take more than polishing to get rid of them! Unfortunately, it's probably time to replace it... Kitchens Acrylic has many practical uses in the kitchen. From covering unhygienic work surfaces such as unsealed wood or tiled worktops (Remember those?) to making wipe clean surfaces for drawers and shelves. Acrylic is hygienic and clean and more importantly LOOKS clean. Now, don't think that acrylic is purely a practical material. Used in some of the amazing colours in the range it can provide a real focal point in a kitchen. A perfect alternative to tiled splashbacks, acrylic provides a high gloss, easy-clean surface that will last for years and can really brighten up a dull kitchen. We have also supplied acrylic drawer and door fronts for a real 'Retro' feel. We can cut the sheet to size and shape for you, cutting holes for sockets and cutout for units. All you need to do is supply us with accurate templates and we will do the rest. If you feel that you are able to produce an accurate drawing we can also work from that but from experience templates are far more likely to fit first time. Bathrooms Like kitchens, bathrooms need to look clean and sharp. If you have large areas behind showers and baths that would normally be tiled, acrylic makes an attractive and cost effective finish. With it's hard wearing, high-gloss finish it is easy to wipe down and keep clean, keeping limescale and soap marks at bay. If your bathroom is just a little too white and clinical, coloured acrylic can inject a splash of colour and warmth. Used in shower enclosures and as sink splashback it will really give you that finishing touch seen often in many interior design magazines and TV programs. Clear and translucent sheet can be cut to shape making it perfect for shower screens in loft conversions where the screen needs to be cut at an angle. Standard shower screens are toughened glass which cannot be re-cut and bespoke glass costs a small fortune. This is where acrylic holds it's own with relatively low labour costs compared to glass. One of the most popular design features today is concealed lighting. We can supply translucent opal and coloured sheeting suitable for lit wall panels or under bath lighting for a classier, more subtle lighting effect. Click Here To Return To The Top Of The Page
