Cast acrylic sheet is probably the most commonly used and well known plastic material used today. It has an exceptionally high gloss finish and is very hard wearing. Transparent sheets have excellent clarity and are more optically clear than glass! It is chemically resistant to most alkalis and solvents and is mechanically stable over a wide temperature range. It is fully UV stabilised making it resistant to both weathering and aging. Because of its hard surface finish it is ideal for line bending, moulding and laser cutting/engraving and it's surface can be re-polished for final finishing.

The only real limitation of acrylic is the fact that it only has a class 3 fire rating. While this may not be a consideration in a domestic environment, certain buildings and regulations exist that demand a class 1 fire rating meaning that an alternative material must be chosen such as Polycarbonate or PETG.
